HDS-LEE will be continued

HDS-LEE was positively evaluated on February 14-15, 2023 by a evaluation committee of six renowned scientists from the field of data science. At the Helmholtz General Assembly, it was decided to continue the funding of the graduate school together with the other five Helmholtz Data Science Schools.

HDS-LEE has good reason to celebrate: HDS-LEE was positively evaluated on February 14-15, 2023 by a evaluation committee of six renowned scientists from the field of data science. They rated HDS-LEE with the highest possible grade "A" and attested HDS-LEE an outstanding training of data scientists and a high scientific output. The evaluation committee was very pleased: "HDS-LEE has proven to be a strong community with a very high commitment of its members at all levels." and " The format pursued in HDS-LEE in order to conducting interdisciplinary data science research has proven its worth." The reviewers gave HDS-LEE valuable feedback to make the school even more successful in the future.

The evaluation were intensive and valuable days in which the entire HDS-LEE community was involved. The HDS-LEE doctoral researchers played a central role and presented their scientific results in posters and talks, gave insights into their research on site and were happy to answer the reviewers' questions about the daily life at HDS-LEE.

The evaluation committee strongly recommended the continuation of HDS-LEE which was decided at the Helmholtz General Assembly on September 26. The funding of all six Helmholtz Data Science Schools is continued until the next evaluation phase in 2029.
